A substitute art teacher, also known as a relief or casual teacher, fills in for the regular teacher when they are unavailable. They may be called for a single day or short-term assignments, without much experience or familiarity with the students or subject content. Despite not having a set schedule, I had valuable experiences substituting at Mundo Verde PCS and DC International School, where I shared my passion for visual arts. Utilizing my formal training, I believe visual art can help bridge the achievement and opportunity gaps in education.
