Inclusivity Artistry. Digital art created on canvas. September 22, 2024. Afrika Abney “Throughout my journey as a professional visual artist and art consultant, I have encountered a variety of societal challenges that have significantly impacted my career. These issues have manifested in different forms, including feelings of isolation, as well as instances of racism and discrimination. Such experiences have not only shaped my personal perspective but have also influenced the way I engage with the art community and the broader society. The isolation I have faced in my professional life often stems from various individuals excluding me because I am an African - American. Additionally, the prevalence of racism and discrimination has further complicated my experiences as I continue to voice my statements against racism and discrimination. Navigating these societal issues has compelled me to reflect on the importance of inclusivity and equity within the art world.”
