Passion for art

  Pablo Picasso: ""Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life". This quote could mean that art can transport people away from the ordinary, or that it can give new meaning to everyday life." Henri Matisse: ""Creativity takes courage". This quote may seem dramatic, but it can also be wise. Not all great works of art need to have a deep meaning, but the ones that do stand out." Growing up in Washington, DC, I developed a passion for art early on, shaping my artistic journey from a young age. Attending NationHouse and other art institutions between the ages of 7 and 16, I immersed myself in creativity and African-centered education. By the time I was 7 in 1983, I was already drawing stick figures, leading to further artistic development at NationHouse and Bell Multicultural High School (now called Columbia Heights Education Campus) until age  16.  Donated the painting shown in the above photo.
