Evaluating My Own Art

I have been evaluating my own art more frequently since June 3, 2024.

When I evaluate my own art, I always ask myself questions because afterall, I know what is my best art and I know what art will sell because I have sold some of my art in the past.

Some of the questions that I have asked myself are below:

Why do you think I included these elements?

What do you think am I trying to convey?

For example, in 2022, I created numerous abstract collages on canvas and some of them I recently have thrown away because the colors were too overpowering or the end result after all of the materials dried appeared darker than usual.

I have thrown away the clothes shown in the above photos as paint stained the materials and was not able to come out of the clothing. I do not like wearing aprons. I usually wear regular clothes.

I just do not paint, I also am writing about art. The same strategy applies for the blog posts related to art. I do not keep posts that are not marketable and my best. Questions - abneyartist@gmail.com.

Prelli Williams
