On the refreshing summer morning of August 13, 2024, I found inspiration in the serene atmosphere that enveloped the day. The gentle breeze carried with it a sense of tranquility, prompting me to explore my artistic side. I decided to blend the hues of light gray, dark green, and white, allowing these colors to dance together on the digital canvas. Each stroke was a reflection of the calmness I felt, as I sought to capture the essence of the moment through an abstract representation.

As I immersed myself in the creative process, the combination of light gray, dark green, and white began to take shape, forming a unique visual narrative. The light gray served as a soft backdrop, evoking a sense of peace, while the dark green added depth and richness, reminiscent of lush foliage basking in the morning light. The white accents punctuated the composition, bringing a sense of clarity and brightness that mirrored the clear sky above. This interplay of colors not only created a striking image but also conveyed the emotions I experienced on that beautiful summer morning.

Each color choice was intentional, reflecting the harmony I sought to achieve in my artwork.

"James Amos Porter was the first African American art historian. Born on December 22, 1905 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Lydia and John Porter, a prominent minister in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. Porter graduated cum laude in 1927 with a Bachelor of Science in art from Howard University. After graduating, he became an instructor of drawing and painting at Howard, teaching for 40 years, during which he was described as a gifted and influential teacher. Porter continued his education at the Art Student League in New York City, New York under Dimitri Romanovsky. Later, he met research librarian Dorothy Burnett in Harlem and married her on December 27, 1929. They had one daughter, Constance Porter.
