Fluidity of Jazz. Digital art created on canvas. September 5, 2024. Afrika Abney

In my capacity as a professional visual artist and art consultant, I find that the soothing rhythms and intricate melodies of jazz music greatly enhance my creative process. The genre's improvisational nature resonates with my artistic approach. The combination of gold and blue hues often inspires my visual compositions, as these colors evoke a sense of warmth and tranquility that complements the fluidity of jazz.

The concept of form

Quote found on the Internet  “In the field of painting, the concept of form is a crucial component that delineates the tangible attributes of the subjects represented on the canvas. It involves the strategic organization and interplay of various shapes, lines, and colors, which collectively contribute to the formation of a unified visual story. This intricate relationship between these elements not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also guides the viewer's understanding of the artwork's intended message.”

Evaluating My Own Art

I have been evaluating my own art more frequently since June 3, 2024.  When I evaluate my own art, I always ask myself questions because afterall, I know what is my best art and I know what art will sell because I have sold some of my art in the past.  Some of the questions that I have asked myself are below: Why do you think I included these elements? What do you think am I trying to convey? For example, in 2022, I created numerous abstract collages on canvas and some of them I recently have thrown away because the colors were too overpowering or the end result after all of the materials dried appeared darker than usual.  I have thrown away the clothes shown in the above photos as paint stained the materials and was not able to come out of the clothing. I do not like wearing aprons. I usually wear regular clothes.  I just do not paint, I also am writing about art. The same strategy applies for the blog posts related to art. I do not keep posts that are not mar...
