Sunset Serenity

Sunset Serenity. Digital art created on canvas. September 4, 2024. Afrika Abney

Last night, I had the privilege of witnessing a truly stunning sunset that left a lasting impression on me. Utilizing my digital brush, this morning, I skillfully blended shades of yellow and blue to capture the essence of the moment that I saw last night, creating a piece that reflects the beauty I observed.

The color yellow, which I prominently featured in my artwork, symbolizes warmth and vitality. It evokes feelings of comfort and joy. In the context of my painting, yellow serves not only as a representation of light but also as a reminder of the enduring nature of the sun.

In contrast, the color blue plays a significant role in my composition, representing the vastness of the sky. This hue is often associated with tranquility and the divine, evoking a sense of peace and introspection. By incorporating blue into my digital painting creating a harmonious balance between the warmth of yellow and the coolness of blue, ultimately reflecting the breathtaking beauty of the sunset I experienced last night and created this morning.

The significance of repetition

The significance of repetition. Digital art created on canvas. September 28, 2024. Afrika Abney For those that do not have a background in fine art, specifically abstract painting, one needs to understand that creating art is all about repetition. Use of materials and tools to depict emotion and thoughts through color, form and shape. “The significance of repetition in both abstract digital art and traditional abstract painting cannot be overstated, as it serves as a fundamental principle that enhances the viewer's experience and understanding of the artwork. In abstract digital art, repetition can manifest through the use of recurring shapes, colors, or patterns, creating a rhythm that draws the viewer's eye and encourages deeper engagement with the piece. This technique not only establishes a sense of harmony and balance within the composition but also allows for the exploration of variations and transformations, inviting the audience to perceive subtle differences and nuanc...

Tranquil Skies

Tranquil Skies. Digital art created on canvas. August 14, 2024. Afrika Abney “The hue of blue has long been associated with various celestial phenomena, and one of the most captivating is its connection to the Waxing Gibbous Moon. This phase of the moon, characterized by its almost full appearance, casts a serene and enchanting glow that often evokes feelings of tranquility and introspection. The deep, rich tones of blue can mirror the vastness of the night sky, creating a harmonious relationship between the color and the moon's luminous presence. As the moon waxes, it becomes a symbol of growth and potential, much like the way blue can represent depth and stability. Waxing Gibbous Moon, the color blue takes on a deeper significance. This phase occurs just before the full moon, when the moon is illuminated more than half but less than fully, symbolizing a time of anticipation and preparation. The blue light that filters through the atmosphere during this phase can evoke a sense o...
