Pablo Picasso: ""Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life". This quote could mean that art can transport people away from the ordinary, or that it can give new meaning to everyday life."

Henri Matisse: ""Creativity takes courage". This quote may seem dramatic, but it can also be wise. Not all great works of art need to have a deep meaning, but the ones that do stand out."

Growing up in Washington, DC, I developed a passion for art early on, shaping my artistic journey from a young age. Attending NationHouse and other art institutions between the ages of 7 and 16, I immersed myself in creativity and African-centered education. By the time I was 7 in 1983, I was already drawing stick figures, leading to further artistic development at NationHouse and Bell Multicultural High School (now called Columbia Heights Education Campus) until age 16.

My focus now is on using art as a tool for empowerment and self-expression, especially in marginalized communities. Beauty standards for me were heightened by the way that I wore my hair and the clothes that I wore as a student living in various parts of Washington, DC surrounded by boys as a student.

With over three decades of experience as a professional visual artist and consultant, I bring a diverse range of talents to my projects, aiming to transcend boundaries and unite people through art. I have honed my skills in various mediums and styles, from painting and drawing to sculpture and installation art.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with numerous boys from different cultures, using art as a means of communication and understanding. My work has been featured in galleries and exhibitions, showcasing the impact of art on individuals and communities.

The purpose of sharing my digital art that I have created has nothing to do with relationships nor friendships. It has to do with the experiences, symbolism behind the colors and the principles related to creating my digital art. According to my research, “ deep dark red represents determination, warmth and depth, while crimson and red symbolizes courage and creativity.”

Stop the Rage

Rage with the leadership. Rage with our communities and societies. That rage then continues to make someone else in more rage. That rage begins to destroy neighborhoods and other places.
