"Artistic journey is a lifelong process of self-expression, creativity, and growth. It involves exploring ideas, developing a style, and overcoming obstacles. Artists may discover their style by exploring different subjects and mediums, facing challenges, and embracing ambiguity."
Born in the 1970s, I began my artistic journey when I was a student at NationHouse. I was enrolled into various art classes at numerous institutions. When I was 15 years old and a high school student at Bell Multicultural High School (now called Columbia Heights Education Campus), I had many opportunities in the arts and became a professional visual artist and art consultant, including worked with the New Harlem Gallery (1992 - 1993) and Wisteria ArtSpace (1992 - 1993).
I have achieved several visual art accomplishments, including having my work featured on book covers and receiving grants from the D.C. Commission on the Arts. For more than 30 years, I have used my talent and skills not only to create vibrant paintings but also to grow the visual arts community by training youth and adults. Additionally, I have designed, produced, and implemented, visual art workshops at several private schools and government agencies, including the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation.
I believe in the power of art to heal and express individual experiences, traditions, and beauty. Passionate about building honest relationships and providing creative solutions for success.
Art is an important expression of life that documents the thoughts, experiences, and traditions of an individual. Art is the power to create a specific piece using various materials heightened by tone, volume, depth, and definition. Art is the tool for healing the mind, body and spirit. Art is the beauty of the human eye.
