This morning, I took a moment to observe the hues that painted the sky, and I was struck by the profound sense of tranquility they evoked. The gentle blend of pink, gray, and blue created a soothing atmosphere that seemed to wrap around me like a warm embrace. Each color contributed to a serene tableau, inviting a sense of peace that felt almost tangible in the crisp morning air.


As I gazed upward, the sky revealed a beautiful palette that stirred my emotions and brought a sense of calm to my day. The soft pinks mingled gracefully with the cool grays and serene blues, creating a harmonious scene that felt both uplifting and grounding.


The early hours of the day provided a perfect backdrop for reflection, as the colors of the sky unfolded before me. The delicate interplay of pink, gray, and blue not only captured my attention but also filled my heart with a sense of serenity. In that moment, I felt a deep connection to the world around me, as if the sky was sharing its quiet wisdom and inviting me to embrace the calmness it offered.

James A. Porter

"James Amos Porter was the first African American art historian. Born on December 22, 1905 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Lydia and John Porter, a prominent minister in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. Porter graduated  cum laude  in 1927 with a Bachelor of Science in art from Howard University. After graduating, he became an instructor of drawing and painting at Howard, teaching for 40 years, during which he was described as a gifted and influential teacher. Porter continued his education at the Art Student League in New York City, New York under Dimitri Romanovsky. Later, he met research librarian Dorothy Burnett in Harlem and married her on December 27, 1929. They had one daughter, Constance Porter.
