I attended Bell from 1991-1993. I graduated in 1993 and was 16 at that time. Years later, I donated the painting shown in the above photo. Additionally, I gave away the clothing articles and jewelry shown in the photo above.   When I was a student, I often painted on canvas panel boards. "Canvas boards are made of cotton canvas, primed to absorb paint, then stretched over and glued on a stiff backing (usually medium-density fiberboard, or MDF). Boards are ideal for beginners looking to practice the basics, or professionals interested in quick studies." Years later, I have created some small abstract paintings.

The event was titled  Women are Poetry In Motion. When I was a little girl, I wanted to pursue a career in the arts. I choose the arts as a vehicle and outlet for me to express myself through using the arts. If it was not for the love of the arts and I had the opportunity to teach visual arts throughout my community in the past. It gave me the opportunity to express myself as it is related to bullying and culture, especially to minority race.  Art is a another way of thinking and using the brain. It contributes to developing creativity - not just the crayon and paper type of art - but it transfers to other subjects in solving problems and using higher critical thinking skills. It is also building motor skills and social skills as well. An art objective is very specific and has learning components that increase knowledge, comprehension, analysis and synthesis.  I taught various visual art forms such as collage design, abstract painting, and drawing to children and youth. ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF ITS FOURTH ANNUAL DISCOVERING ME…WITHOUT YOU SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST Raea Jordan and Raine Badua were chosen by a distinguished panel of judges as Top Scholarship  winners in Tier 1 (15-18) category and Tier 2 (13-14) category Esther Productions Inc.’s scholarship contest  for 2022. Three other young ladies—Simaya Hammond, Dominique Barksdale and Rahel Belay-  Tseganeh—were given Honorable Mention designation. Cash awards totaling $2,200 were distributed . The winners were selected from a group of more than two-dozen teen girls between the ages of 13 and 18. Those who did not receive cash prizes were each presented with $25 gift cards during an awards ceremony on  Dec. 10 th held at The Woman’s National Democratic Club in Washington, DC.
