Winter

"Winter, a time when the sky is often grey, pairs perfectly with the grey-toned muted colors, such as slate blue, winter white, charcoal, mauve, burgundy, and an endless variety of pastels and “icy” colors. Winter's colors are like a snowscape: icy, muted, subtly greyed, and very subdued."

During the Winter, I have created over 20 digital art pieces using different colors and techniques. Since, January 2020, I have created over 20 paintings on canvas or paper. Winter is an extremely cold season and a perfect time to create, reflect and share gifts from the heart.

The below digital art piece is entitled: Winter Time.

Winter Time, a time to meditate, relax, renew, rest, and create new ideas filled with hope and grace. In this digital art piece, I use some winter colors such as mauve, burgundy, charcoal, slate blue and winter white. Each color in the digital art piece representing a different meaning. Colors are important element in creating any piece of art.

"Mauve is the hue of decadence, youth, and femininity. It evokes feelings of purity and devotion, with the moodiness of a deeper purple. Mauve brings to mind the ethos of renewal associated with springtime."

"Burgundy as a deep hue of the color red signifies strength and power. It is seen as more serious than lighter shades of red, lacking fun. However, it has the same energy as red, which can provoke emotion such as excitement and passion."

"Charcoal grey is a very dark shade of grey - almost black but still lighter. The name of the color comes from charcoal - material made of wood burnt in a high temperature with low access to oxygen."

"Slate blue is a grayish-blue color."

"Winter white is an "off-white" : in more of the cream range, but not too yellow, though it is a warm rather than cool tone. "

Afrika Abney “Achieving a peaceful and restorative sleep is crucial for overall well-being, and interestingly, certain colors are believed to enhance this experience. Colors such as orange, blue, green, and silver are often associated with promoting tranquility and relaxation, which are vital for a good night's rest. These hues not only create a soothing environment but also stimulate the mind's creativity, allowing for a more vivid and imaginative dream state. The color orange, for instance, is known to evoke feelings of warmth and comfort, making it an excellent choice for creating a cozy bedroom atmosphere. Blue, on the other hand, is often linked to calmness and serenity, which can significantly improve sleep quality. Green, representing nature and renewal, brings a sense of balance and harmony, while silver adds a touch of elegance and tranquility, enhancing the overall ambiance of the sleeping space.”

Forward-looking approach

I kindly request that you refrain from repeatedly inquiring about the events of 1993. At that time, I was merely 16 years old, and the context of those years may not hold the same significance for me as it does for you. As we are now in the year 2024, it is important to focus on the present and the future rather than dwelling on the past. ART CURATOR. New Harlem Gallery, New York City. 1992 - 1993. HueMessage

HueMessage.Digital art created on canvas. September 9, 2024. Afrika Abney “The use of color as a tool for indicating priorities presents a fascinating dimension of visual communication. Each color carries its own set of emotional responses which can be effectively harnessed to highlight the significance of different tasks or components in a particular setting. For example, the color red is frequently associated with urgency and criticality, making it a powerful choice for signaling tasks that demand immediate attention. By thoughtfully choosing colors that align with the desired message, one can enhance the clarity of communication. Calming shades of blue, for instance, can be employed to represent tasks that are less pressing, promoting a sense of tranquility and focus. In contrast, bright yellows can be utilized to draw attention to activities that require prompt action, thereby creating a visual hierarchy that guides the viewer's response and prioritization of tasks. Refrain from drawing conclusions

It is important to refrain from drawing conclusions without first reviewing the precise information I have shared recently. My academic journey as a college student spanned from 1993 to 1997, and I believe that understanding this context is essential for a meaningful discussion. I encourage you to take the time to engage with the details I have provided to foster a more informed dialogue. Optimistic Whisper

“Optimistic Whisper" utilizes a soft pale yellow hue to effectively convey a sense of hope and positivity. This choice of color is significant, as pale yellow is often associated with warmth, light, and a gentle brightness that can uplift the spirit. The subtlety of the shade allows for a nuanced expression of optimism. The concept of optimism within the sphere of abstract art serves as a powerful lens through which to explore the emotional and psychological dimensions of artistic expression. Abstract art, characterized by its departure from representational forms, allows artists to convey feelings and ideas that transcend the limitations of traditional imagery. This genre often embraces vibrant colors, dynamic shapes, and fluid compositions, all of which can evoke a sense of hope and positivity. The absence of concrete subjects invites viewers to engage with the artwork on a personal level, fostering an optimistic interpretation that resonates with their own experiences and asp...
