"Unity (also called harmony) is an important principle of design that gives the artwork a sense of cohesion or coherence. It is the wholeness or completeness of a picture. Unity and harmony in art are used by artists to tie a composition together and help the composition make sense as a whole piece of art."
Harmonic Rhythms are based on the coherent flow that is achieved through brushstroke, color, composition and technique. Without harmonic rhythms in art, there is no balance. I used three different colors to produce this painting, a light red, dark red and white. Those three colors combined created Harmonic Rhythms, an abstract painting created on canvas.
When I created the above paintings entitled Harmonic Rhythm #1 and Harmonic Rhythm #2, I was thinking about the colors and how I would apply paint onto the canvas. I created the above paintings using my hands.
