In the 1980s, I was a middle school student at NationHouse. I often was bullied when I was a middle school student at NationHouse. As a middle school student, I was petite, statics of father absence, had an Afrocentric name, and was asked what I wanted to be. Additionally, I still was not taught visual art at NationHouse. I learned about visual art from other art institutions.
Each of these experiences in some form or another created trauma and were painful for me.
Years later, I had the opportunity to work with middle students. I have not worked with middle school students as it relates to my background as a professional visual artist and art consultant since 2016.
