"The title of a work of art can be a word or phrase that helps identify and distinguish the piece. It can also serve as a way for the artist to communicate their intent, message, or concept, and can provide viewers with context and insight into the artist's thought process. These titles can be descriptive, indicative of the content or theme of the work, or they can be more abstract and open to interpretation.
When choosing a title, artists can consider things like:
Inspiration: The title should provide insight into the artist's inspiration for the work.
Storytelling: The title may help the artwork tell its story.
Interpretation: The title should leave room for the viewer to bring their own meaning and interpretation to the work."
The first time that I had to come up with titles for my artwork was during high school when I participated in the art competition. Since then, I have had numerous abstract collages and paintings.
If you have any questions about the titles for either my abstract collages or paintings, please send them to me at abneyartist@gmail.com.
