World of drawing

  My journey into the world of drawing commenced in my early childhood, and it has since evolved into a profound passion for visual arts. Over the years, I have sought formal education when I was enrolled into various art institutions, where I honed my skills and explored different artistic techniques. While I primarily gravitate towards an abstract drawing style, I have also ventured into portraiture, capturing the essence of individuals through my art. Unfortunately, some of the pieces I created during my student and younger adult years have either been donated to charitable causes or discarded, which has been a bittersweet aspect of my artistic journey. 1996. Rising above all of the hate, pain and suffering that I had experienced.  Butterfly #1 is part of a painting series created by Afrika Abney. " A painting series is a collection of paintings that are connected by a common theme or thread. The paintings can be a few or many in number, and each one can stand alone, but together they create a cohesive body of work. Prelli Williams

  "Prelli Anthony Williams is a Washington, DC native and product of the DC public school system. As soon as he could hold a pencil, at the age of three (his family says) he drew on any blank surfaces, brown paper grocery bags, on back of Polaroid photos, books and walls. After graduating from Eastern High School (Washington, DC) in 1975, Prelli relocated to New York City to attend the School of Visual Arts. Despite financial hardships and struggles of many Black males during that period, Williams managed to stay employed, raise a family and complete college Nine years later, receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1984 with a Major in Advertising and a Minor in Graphic Design.
